Mentorship
I have directly mentored more than 22 undergraduate and 20 graduate students, including 8 Ph.D. students. During this mentorship, I help students develop important research capabilities and skill sets, including critical thinking, writing, presentation, and collaboration. During my Ph.D. study, I was involved in various undergraduate research programs, e.g., ERSP and ENLANCE. I have published 42 papers with undergraduate and underrepresented minority (URM) students. Our of those, 33 papers are with 21 individual undergraduate and 25 papers with 15 individual URM students. Beside my volunteered mentorship, I have participated in several programs that aimed to increase the number of undergraduate students, specifically minorities, at UCSD. I mentored about 10 students from ERSP program that tries to increase the number of undergraduate students at CSE department. In addition, I mentored several high-school and college students from ENLANCE program to help increase of the Latino students at UCSD.
